Grid 2

Here I am, sitting with a copy of Grid 2, actually let me start by informing you how this review wasn't meant to be what it is right now, for at the beginning of this, my main pursuit wasn't meant to be Grid but to get the much appraised project cars. The reason for this wasn’t that I had a long outstanding experience with track day cars games, and though I have played the first episode of grid and happened to glance at Forza by favours of a friend I had never stuck out both titles to the bitter end.
My decision to get a sim racing title was merely caused by the hype behind project cars, well mostly it's social content alone, postings of videos on YouTube made my envy overfill with green ooze, but all along I had held my composure till one faithful morning when I heard the sounds produced by a McLaren p1 I finally decide this was enough, I had to get a copy of project cars for myself. But upon budget constraints brought on by Grand theft auto V I'd have to opt for a lesser expensive title, which was Grid.

But this wasn’t the case when it came to grid 2, a plus that they dedicated support to Intel’s HD graphics for I would be speaking a different story now. The landing screen hasn't changed that much from other Codemasters racing games you'd be forgiven if you confused it as that of f1 2010, a concept I feel Codemasters borrowed from Ubisoft and their climbing a tower to discover the map notion. I found the plot to be linear to other sim racing titles, you start of as a nobody with a sponsored lower class car which in the Grid league is grouped under tier 1 cars. Your main objective is getting recognition from fans, sponsors, and acknowledgement from fellow race drivers from different regions of the globe in an effort to lure them in for the World Series Racing abbreviated as WSR. Gameplay is a bit irritating if you so used to unrealistic racing games, for one in games like need for speed I never bother with breaking, my finger is always strapped on the accelerator button, however in this I found that if i had done so, I'd find myself passing the ditch and blasting through barriers and guardrails

Thus I wasn't that satisfied with the game engine. My verdict?

Playability: C for playability, it's a simulation what did you expect.
Graphics: B for graphics,
Environment: C for its environment,
ShockAndAwe: +C for ShockAndAwe.
Plot: D
Overall: C, you can be faithful to it, for some couple of days.
